Tuning a piano requires highly trained ears and extraordinary listening techniques. The tuning pins and strings have to be set to the appropriate tension and skillfully “locked” into position to maintain tuning stability.

Repair, Regulation and Voicing

We offer a wide array of repair services. Some of these repairs can be simple and completed at the time of a tuning, and some can be more complicated that require extra attention.

Regulation is the adjustment of the mechanical aspects of the piano to compensate for changes that occur over time and to restore proper touch and responsiveness to the piano.

Voicing is the process of adjusting the hammer felts to alter the tone of the piano and to add life to the hammers. Worn hammers can be filed to bring them back to their original shape. This can be done to make the tone more mellow, more bright, and to make the tone even throughout the piano.
